Not Wireless Radio

Former columnist of the University of Gloucestershire's SPACE Newspaper Michael White has turned from writing on paper, to speaking through a microphone and will be presenting Not Wireless Radio every Friday Morning from 10.

You may be wondering why I'm writing a blog about it? Well, if you look to your right, you'll see my name (Maybe?) in the logo. That's because I'm Michael's co-host/tech op.

The show will contain a delve into whacky news articles of the week, and an insight into the weeks news in general, with a caffeine shot of music for your listening pleasure.

I'm looking forward to working with Michael, because it will be nice to do radio with someone not on a radio production course (Although I equally love all the shows I do!), and as the show is more talk based, with shots of music, it will be nice to actually do some talk radio for a change!

Make sure you check out the Facebook Fanpage, and listen in, Friday Mornings from 10am until 12pm on Tone Radio.

See you then!

An interesting form of Marketing?

For those of you who know my business, Pinnell Productions, you'll know I deal with audio, what with being an imaging producer and voiceover artist. But today, I launched a visual campaign to market Pinnell Productions.

The BIG Screen Event takes place until 2nd November 2009, and is a chance for clients and regular visitors to the Pinnell Productions website to take photographs of the site on a big screen. A good way to market the website, as, when people visit, they may be interested in finding out more about what services Pinnell Productions has to offer.

It will be interesting to see how well this goes down. I have already received a couple of images, and am hoping more will arrive in my inbox in the coming weeks. The bigger the screen, the better. The craziest locations will also be considered too!

I know you're thinking "why is this guy marketing his audio website by having a visual event?"

My answer is simple, if audio works well with visuals on the television, online, and other forms of media, then running a visual event can work well on a website that primarily provides audio services.

A few words from a few days...

Hello faithful blog reader,

So, it's been a few days since i moved into the new house in Cheltenham, and what a house it is. I don't have any photographs yet as I've not really sorted the room out, there's a few things that still need to be stuck up, tided up, put away and that kind of thing, but if you have me on Facebook, you'll get to see photographs very soon indeed!

I've already got a few things sorted, and today, I rang SKY to organise our TV,Phone and Internet package. It was pretty cool, and the TV will be installed this Saturday which will be amazing.

Not had any lectures to do with radio as yet, that all starts tomorrow. I'm also continuing to produce the imaging for the student station - Tone Radio. You'll be able to hear samples from my website in the near future.

Anyway, enough blabber from me,

Have a good evening!

Street Performer in Oxford

Well, tomorrow I head back up to Cheltenham, where I move into my new house with new housemates. I'm really excited, and it should be a blast!

Today's trip to Oxford City Centre was my last one for a while. I had a few things to sort out, needless to say, nothing was sorted out. O2 won't send my Internet dongle to the store in Cheltenham when it comes back from repair. Seems a bit silly really, what's more, they could have made it easier on them, and me, by just giving me a replacement dongle as opposed to sending mine away for repair! But oh well.

After some lunch, I walked to the bus stop to head on back, when I saw a street entertainer at Bonn Square. So, I did what everyone else was doing, and formed part of the crowd. It was an amazing and very comical event, which lasted about 40-45 minutes. One of the tricks I managed to capture on video was the "I'm going to throw this [playing] card onto the roof of that building". It took a few attempts, but he got there in the end...!

See it for yourself below!
